The apple never falls far from the tree. And that is certainly true when it comes to Will Smith and his son Jaden.
The official trailer for the remake of the 80s classic Karate Kid has been released by makers Columbia Pictures and Jaden looks every bit the talented actor that his dad is.
With father Will coaching him on the sidelines, the 11-year-old always had the best start for his acting career but filming was not just about being good on screen - but also mastering kung fu.
He underwent four months of kung fu training and impressed mentor and co-star Jackie Chan.
Smith, 40, has been keeping his watchful eye on his youngster as he also produced the film, called Kung Fu Kid.
The film, shot in China, has a slightly new twist to the original.
Rather than learning karate from an eccentric Japanese teacher name Mr Miyagi, Jaden stars as Dre, who moves to China and faces bullies who speak a different language and have a totally different culture.
He meets Mr Han, played by Chan, who mentors him in kung fu and teaches him that there is more to martial arts than fighting.
Chan was so impressed with Jaden's martial arts he previously compared him to his own son.
'He put my son to shame! I provided my son with the best martial artists in the world, and he could not be persuaded to try it. In just two months, Jaden had learned so much. He is truly a talented boy.'
It is the second time Smith has worked alongside his son. They starred together in The Pursuit OfHappyness.
This time, Jaden takes the limelight on his own. The film is out in July.
